For people interested in learning more about beer, earning a credible beer qualification might be an avenue to explore next month.

The Virtual Beer School, developed by Natalya Watson, award-winning beer educator, beer sommelier, and advanced cicerone, offers interactive live online classroom-style brewing classes for the certified beer server and certified cicerone exams and released new dates for September.

Virtual Beer School: Level 1 is open to anyone from around the world who wants to learn more about beer. (There is no requirement to take the Certified Beer Server exam upon completion.) The next course begins September 1, 2022.

For those who have already passed their Certified Beer Server qualification, Virtual Beer School: Level 2 helps prepare participants for the written portion of the Certified Beer Server exam. The next course starts on September 5, 2022.

Launched in September 2020, Watson designed Virtual Beer School to be approachable and accessible, to build trust and create community.

By mid-2022, nearly 300 students had taken Watson’s courses and she was recently named Training Professional of the Year at the British Institute of Innkeeping’s National Innovation in Training Awards.
